Along The Lines of Sin...
I read something G. Craig Lewis sent me (he has daily words... I read them) that was interesting... but then I read his suggested reading. This scripture pricked my heart and humbled me in SO many ways. THIS is why I'm thankful for the Word of God everyday, because it has th power to show you your whole self and your true self, FOR REAL! it is the entire 3 chapter of 1st John.
1 John 3

See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and {such} we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. |

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. |

And everyone who has this hope {fixed} on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. |

Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. |

You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. |

and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. |

This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. |

The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. |
What has this scripture shown you? i know it showed me lots, that need changing. i now have a goal for my daily life. To be able to say that I don't practice sin, and that i can indeed have confidence in the Lord, much like the elders of my church. Three cheers for the word of God, and it's power to change the lives of those who open themselves to the true words of God.
